Rashani Meegama was the founder of The Endometriosis Support and Awareness Foundation (ESAF).

It is was founded by her as a non profit organization with the objective of raising much needed awareness on Endometriosis to Sri lankan girls and women.

Rashani is a lawyer by profession and runs two corporate law firms. She is very passionate to raise a voice on behalf of all those who suffer from Endometriosis as she feels it’s still very much misunderstood.

Since this condition is hardly spoken of in public, women are left confused and desperate for information when diagnosed. Rashani’s fervent hope is that ESAF will be the voice to break this silence and create as much awareness and support.

She believes that Endometriosis awareness must cover not only the medical aspects but also as importantly, the less tangible social and lifestyle aspects which Endometriosis sufferers must know.

Symptoms, treatment options and daily lifestyle facts will be responsibly sourced and shared from Rashani herself who is a sufferer of 4^th stage Endometriosis and has gone through a very painful journey both physically and mentally.

Misdiagnosis, followed by surgeries, constant pain medication and confusing treatment plans coupled with excruciating abdominal pain, severe migraines and chronic fatigue left Rashani completely exhausted and desperate.

She turned this pain into passion and created this foundation with the determined mission that no Sri Lankan woman will ever have to go through this arduous journey blindly. Her message to you is that Endometriosis cannot be wiped away but accurate knowledge and information can make the biggest difference in an endo woman’s quality of life .
